Welcome to Module 1

Customer Service & Customer Trust

Every interaction with a customer either strengthens or weakens trust. Customer service is more than being polite. It is how you listen, communicate, manage expectations, respond when something goes wrong, and represent the business.

Module goal

Help employees understand that customer service is not merely about being friendly or saying “yes” to customers.

By the end of this module, you should be able to:

  • create a professional first impression
  • understand what customers actually need
  • communicate professionally in person, by phone and digitally
  • manage waiting, delays and expectations
  • respond to complaints without unnecessary conflict
  • recover trust after a service failure
  • maintain appropriate customer-service boundaries
  • hand over and escalate complaints appropriately
  • follow up and close the loop
  • provide fair and consistent service
