Employer/Owner Foundations · Module 7
COMMUNICATION, MEETINGS & INFORMATION FLOW
Many workplace problems are not caused by a lack of effort.
They are caused by information that:
- never reached the right person
- arrived too late
- changed without being communicated
- was buried in a group chat
- was misunderstood
- was discussed but never decided
- was decided but never assigned
- was assigned but never followed up
Owners often say:
“I already told them.”
The stronger question is:
Did the right people receive, understand and act on the information?
Good workplace communication does not mean endless meetings.
It means important information has a reliable path.
Employees should reasonably know:
- where important instructions come from
- which messages require action
- which decisions are final
- who owns the next step
- where current information is stored
- what should be escalated
- how urgent concerns should be raised
BY THE END OF THIS MODULE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
- choose appropriate communication channels for different information
- confirm important instructions and changes
- make meetings more action-focused
- distinguish discussion from decisions
- reduce communication breakdown across shifts and departments
- use WhatsApp and informal messaging more deliberately
- encourage employees to raise important issues early
- control access to sensitive information appropriately
- communicate during change or disruption
- build a simple communication rhythm for a growing business
Core Behavior
Make important workplace information clear, visible and actionable.
TrueConduct Principle
Communication is not complete because something was said. It is complete when the right people know what they need to know and what happens next.
Remember
Information should travel with the work.
